Freedom of Love NBtM

Blurb:
The stunning daughter of the French nobleman Dominique, marquis d’Chartes and the African beauty Imani Marsan, Soleil is captivated by everything during her first trip to America including Alex.  She loves him almost from their first meeting. However, their love is interrupted when she is abducted and sold into slavery.  Alone and scared she only wishes to regain her freedom.

Alexander couldn't help but love the exotic beauty with the caramel skin that made him want to taste it.  Losing her was the hardest day of his life. After years of searching she appears as if conjured by his deepest desires. But she returns far from the same.  Can they rekindle their love or will they never find the freedom only love can bring.

Excerpt:
“You will not regret this.  I will make you the happiest woman that ever lived.”  He brought his lips to hers and kissed with the promise of what was to come. Pulling apart Alex lifted Soleil into his arms and stood rocking the tiny boat.

“Attendre! Wait!” Without heeding her protest Alex jumped over the side of the boat into the lake.  They surfaced laughing while Alex held Soleil securely in his arms.  Soleil pushed away and splashed water in his face.

“Who said that I wanted to be wet?”  Alex swam towards her only for Soleil to swim away.

“I thought it would be a great relief from this summer heat.”  Soleil lay back floating across the water looking up at the sky.

“A great relief it is.  But now my clothes are soaked through and I will not be able to go home like this.”  Alex swam up next to her and ran a hand from her legs all the way up her body resting it
on her breast.

“Then let us go back to shore and take our clothes off.  So they can hang and dry of course.” Soleil saw the storm of desire in his eyes and was excited that he wanted her so badly.

“Yes, let us.”

G.S. Carr, thanks so much for stopping by. So, how did you get started writing?
I have been writing since I was little. I loved reading and I would try to create my own stories.  I had started about five or six stories (but never finished) by the time I was in the fifth grade.  There was a point where I got into writing and illustrating my own comics.  Then I wrote poetry and did spoken word.  Eventually, I came full circle and wrote/completed my first book “Freedom of Love”.  After a little convincing I finally decided to publish it.

What was the inspiration for your book?
I think Freedom of Love has always been in me.  It is written during the slavery period of American History and a part of me has always been fascinated with that period.  I have always thought about what it would be like if I lived during that time.  I can’t really explain why, but this book was always meant to be my first book.  I have been carrying this book in my heart for a long time and I’m glad to now be able to share it with the world.

What’s the one genre you haven’t written in yet that you’d like to?
I am going to write a fantasy (Harry Potter/ Lord of the Rings) series one day.  I think that Fantasy is the ultimate challenge for writers.  You have to push your creativity to its limits thinking up an entire culture, currency, language, etc. for your characters.  I think a well written Fantasy takes hours upon hours of preparation/planning before you even write the first word.  I can’t wait to accept that challenge!

Are there any genres you won’t read or write in? Why?
I will never do Horror.  I do not like being scared and would be absolutely horrible at writing something that could possibly scare others.  And I feel that people today are very desensitized to scary movies/books unless things are popping out at them.  I have no intention of making a pop-up book any time soon so I guess that is out for me.

So, what are you working on right now? Got any releases planned, or still writing?
I am working on a series based on three friends.  They will each have their own book however there is a base storyline that will flow throughout the books.  This one is a bit more of a suspense/thriller.  Book one should be out at the end of January.

Alright, now for some totally random, fun questions. Favorite color?
My favorite color is purple.  Any shade of purple.  It is just so beautiful.  With that said however, I don’t really ever wear it. I wear a lot of black because it is easier to match things with it. I’m kind of lazy when it comes to dressing myself.

Favorite movie?
Currently my favorite movie is Kick Ass 2.  I love to digress into a state of watching pointless crude comedy every once in a while. This movie had me laughing from beginning to end and I love a good side splitting laugh.

Alright, you have one superpower. What is it?
At first I thought flight, but then I thought about it.  When it’s winter I would refuse to fly in the freezing cold, which pretty much means I would be in my car anyway still paying for gas.  So, I am going to go with Speed.  That way I would win a bunch of marathons or Olympic medals and rake in the cash prizes.

You can have dinner with any 3 people, dead, alive, fictitious, etc. Who are they?
I would have dinner with Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, and Chris Hemsworth.  Chris would mainly be there as eye candy for me.  Oprah and Ellen I would love to talk with because they are just amazing women that give so much.  They would also be a wealth of knowledge that I would be crazy to not want to tap into.

Last question: Which of your characters are you most like and how/why?

I think I am most like my main character Soleil.  I think sometimes we have to fight so hard just to survive that it can sometimes seem strange to lean on others.  But in the end it is amazing to have someone who loves you wholeheartedly and who you can depend on no matter what.

Author Bio and Links:
Raised in Charlotte NC, G.S. Carr has always enjoyed indulging in her imagination. At a very young age she had a thirst for reading and the many possibilities it helped come alive in her mind’s eye.  She consumed books like they were the air she needed to survive. It seemed inevitable that her love of reading would transcend into a desire to create her own stories.  She began writing poetry and stories at the age of 10.  By the time she was thirteen she found her passion in the romance genre and has not looked back ever since.
